This program draws on principles from peer support, occupational therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). It focuses on developing an empowering lifestyle to successfully accomplish meaningful activities during difficult times.
How is Mental Wellness Coaching Different from Therapy?
Therapy or counseling involves working with a therapist to repair or resolve problematic behaviors, beliefs, feelings, or relationships. Mental wellness coaching, on the other hand, focuses on developing healthy habits, activities and routines to create a lifestyle to support fulfillment regardless of feelings. Mental wellness coaching is designed to complement and not replace therapy. The main objective of coaching is to enable and empower clients so that they are successful in their commitment to change their lives for the better.
