Erin M. Ruston is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York with more than 25 years of experience supporting individuals and couples through some of the most intimate and impactful areas of their lives. Erin holds a Master of Science in Education-Agency Counseling from St. Bonaventure University and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, as well as, a Suicide Prevention Instructor.

Much of Erin’s work is grounded in helping clients navigate relationships, sexual health, intimacy, and trauma recovery. She believes that healing in these areas often requires a space where clients feel genuinely understood, accepted, and empowered to explore their experiences without shame. Her approach is warm, direct, and deeply attuned to the emotional and relational realities her clients face.

Erin’s extensive background- including work in schools, agency settings, hospital emergency rooms, correctional environments, and residential programs, has given her a profound respect for the wide range of human experiences and the resilience people carry, even in the midst of struggle.

Since opening her private practice in 2007, Erin has focused her clinical work on Couples Therapy, Sex Therapy, Trauma Recovery, Depression, Anxiety, Eating Disorders, and Insomnia. Erin also completes DWI screenings and assessments for NYS OASAS (Office of Addictions and Substance Abuse Services). She is passionate about helping clients strengthen connection, rebuild trust, deepen intimacy, and reclaim a sense of safety and confidence in themselves and their relationships.
