Brainspotting

Exploring the Brain and Body Connection

What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is an effective, therapeutic modality to reduce unwanted suffering (emotional distress), promote personal growth, and develop personal competency.

Brainspotting is a unique therapeutic modality that focuses on the brain-body connection for releasing physical stress, resulting in the release of the emotional stress associated with it. The technique is based on the premise that “where you look affects how you feel” (understanding that optic nerves play an important role in our nervous system regulation). Utilizing bilateral sound or stimulation combined with identifying a focal point in the client’s field of vision, clients are better able to access unprocessed trauma in the brain. Brainspotting is an effective for treating a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD, physical pain, and other symptoms associated with trauma.
